Graduating undergraduate students of the Jacobs School of Engineering are invited to attend the annual Ring Ceremony. At this event, graduating engineers volition recite the graduation oath to express their commitment to upholding standards of ethics, integrity, and quality as practicing engineers and every bit graduates of the Jacobs Schoolhouse of Engineering. Participants will receive a band prior to the event to exist worn as a symbol of this delivery. The ring is a plain stainless steel silver band engraved on the inside with UCSD Jacobs Schoolhouse of Engineering. The words of the ritual are a phone call to professional person integrity and responsibility, part of which goes as follows: "I, in the presence of these my betters and my equals in my Calling, demark myself upon my Honor and Cold Iron, that, to the best of my noesis and power, I volition not henceforward suffer or laissez passer, or be privy to the passing of, Bad Workmanship or Faulty Fabric in naught that concerns my works earlier mankind as an Engineer, or in my dealings with my own Soul before my Maker.

In 1970 the "Order of the Ring" ceremony was started in the United states with a stainless steel ring. At the Jacobs School, our students decided 11 years ago to create their own ring ceremony. Graduating engineering students planning to attend in Band Anniversary should click on the link below and select one of the following tickets:

  2. Gold Registration ($25), includes participation in Band Anniversary

The registration fee will also cover the supplies for your plan, document and ring*.

All remaining funds go towards the Student Travel Fund, which was created by the graduating class of 2013 to give back to future students.

Note: Band Ceremony Packages will exist picked upward during the check-in procedure for the in-person event on June eleven, 2022.

*The Engineering Ring is a silver band and it is not the Grade Ring.

Attire:

  • Formal/business organisation attire highly encouraged. You lot do not need to wear your cap and gown for this event but you are more than welcome to wear your stoles and honor cords.

Guests
